ALEX® Allergy Explorer rapidly tests for up to 300 allergens simultaneously and providing a comprehensive analysis, from a very small sample volume. This test is the Roche antibody test for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The test involves an easy-to-use (MHRA approved) blood sample collection kit from a finger puncture. Your sample is returned to our laboratory in a prepaid tracked envelope, where it is tested for the IgM and IgG antibodies. The test has a high degree of accuracy (97.4% sensitivity and 100% specificity). Results take approximately 24 hours. You receive your lab report and an interpretation from a doctor. The sample is to be taken 14 days or more from exposure or the onset of symptoms. This test tells you if you have had COVID-19 and have generated the antibodies. It is not known how long these antibodies remain detectable after they are produced by the immune system. Please note that this is not suitable for detecting antibodies induced after vaccination.
